Joro has significant experience in the collection and incorporation of Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Aboriginal Traditional Knowledge (ATK) into our work. Joro team members have conducted key person interviews and respectfully incorporated this knowledge as appropriate into various environmental assessments and wildlife monitoring programs. Joro has an extensive record of engaging community people and have incorporated many local hires into our projects when possible. Joro also has the development of a Trapper Program, used both for environmental assessments associated with Manitoba Hydro and MESRA Projects. This Trapper Program was designed to foster collaboration between the consultants, proponents, and the community, incorporating trapper knowledge in the development of a database on furbearer presence along Registered Traplines located within and near Project Study Areas.
